Listening to our internal wake up calls

It all started when someone posted a FB message about where there is no mention of “treating” of conditions in Reconnective Healing. As a practitioner, and as a (perpetual) student, I have found out that “treatment” is when we rely on our external physicality to reassure us that we are on the right path. However, sometimes, our spiritual growth and path may be a lot deeper than what is manifested on the outside (physically).

“Mind is the Master power that moulds and makes,
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes
The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills:—
He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass:
Environment is but his looking-glass.” – J Allen

I feel that I have come to learn this personally because of my son. As mentioned in my other thread, I had brought him to a RH practitioner early on, secretly hoping that his condition would miraculously disappear. Such was not the case, unfortunately, and I’ve had to delve deeper within to find out why.

At first, I had blamed everything including water, food, modern medicine… you name it. I later realised that blaming and continually living in fear will not get rid of his condition. I also learnt that I cannot live my own life in fear because frankly speaking, everything in our lives has been “linked” to some condition or another. When I thought about that on a deeper level, it made me realise that most people tend to blame others (people or circumstances) to get them to where they are at present. Why? Because they do not want to take the responsibility of creating the life that they want to live. It’s never our fault; it’s always someone else’s fault. Allen’s quote came to mind: environment is but our looking glass.

When Anita Moorjani mentioned in one of her videos that she was a poster child for healthy eating, but yet still had stage 4 lymphoma (followed by her NDE), and when she said that she felt that she was living in fear, being inauthentic to her true self which caused her to have cancer, her words reinforced my belief. People continually live in fear and they do not realise the power that their subconscious mind has on their physical being.

That’s not to say that everyone who has cancer continues to live in fear. I believe some may have chosen this path to awaken those around them. I had a friend who had passed on from his 12 year battle with leukemia, but he was never one who gave up easily. He was strong minded, very religious and a fighter. He discovered his cancer before 21, and I feel that it may have been because of him that drove his two younger brothers into the medical field; one as a doctor, another as a nurse.

I then look at my son (the 2 of them were hospitalised around the same time at one stage and taking the same drugs) and it made me realise that perhaps childhood conditions are not reflective of their fears (since they are too young anyway to realise this), and instead, they have come into this lifetime to make those around them realise their spiritual growth. They also make us think that healing is not necessarily always physical.

“There is an inner and an outer side to everything; and the quality of the superficial mind which causes it to fail in the attainment of Truth is its willingness to rest content with the outside only. So long as this is the case it is impossible for a man to grasp the import of his own relation to the universal, and it is this relation which constitutes all that is signified by the word ‘Truth’. So long as a man fixes his attention only on the superficial it is impossible for him to make any progress in knowledge. He is denying that principle of ‘Growth’ which is the root of all life, whether spiritual, intellectual or material, for he does not stop to reflect that all which he sees as the outer side of things can result only from some germinal principle hidden deep in the centre of their being.

Expansion from the centre by growth according to a necessary order of sequence, this is the Law of Life of which the whole universe is the outcome, alike in the one great solidarity of cosmic being, as in the separate individualities of its minutest organisms. This great principle is the key to the whole riddle of Life, upon whatever plan we contemplate it; and without this key the door from the outer to the inner side of things can never be opened. It is therefore the duty of all to whom this door has, at least in some measure, been opened, to endeavour to acquaint others with the fact that there is an inner side to things, and that life becomes truer and fuller in proportion as we penetrate to it and make our estimates of all things according to what becomes visible from this interior point of view.” – Thomas Troward, The Hidden Power

Thomas Troward reinforces the fact that we cannot always rely on the external (the superficial) to learn the “Truth”. Bob Proctor has always told us not to rely on our physical senses to determine where we will head so that we become who we truly are: the creative and powerful beings that we are. The same goes for “treating illnesses”. “Don’t let the outside control what’s going on the inside,” Bob would say.

I saw another post on FB of a father who took a photo of his dying daughter who was in severe pain, just weeks before she passed on. His message to the world was to find a cure for childhood cancer. I looked at it from another perspective. I saw that photo and saw a child who was a fighter, who was willing to sacrifice the herself to tell the world to wake up to their internal wake up call, for she knew that her father would take that photo and it would go viral.

We all have free will to do as we wish. What do you choose? Will you wake up and heed your internal calling? Or will you continue to live in fear? As Dr Ng used to say to us: “The choice is in your hands.”
